In Part 2 of the Speaking test, most of the questions being used only cover some common topics: Describe a person, an item, a place, or a situation. Therefore, we can prepare an answer (a story) for each of these topics at home before taking the test. When doing the test, all you need to do is to slightly adjust your story so that your answer is relevant to the question asked.
For example, let’s say you prepare at home a description of a smart phone. When you go to the exam room, if you get asked a question about an item, use the description that you have already prepared.
– Describe a product from your country. -> Talk about a type of smart phone that is made in your country.
– Describe a present you gave to someone. -> You gave a smart phone to one of your friends, as a gift.
– Describe something that you saved money to buy. -> You saved money to buy a new Iphone.
By doing this, you will find it easier to think of ideas to talk about. Similarly, you can also prepare some stories for other topics (a person, a place, or a situation…).
